How to Test the Wiring on a Jensen AWM975 RV Stereo

Question:

How do I check the 12V power red #3 on the main radio harness of a AWM 975 with a circuit tester if there are no exposed wires leading from the wiring harness to put the tester on. I’m just a beginner, but would like to learn how to do this to see if the radio is getting 12V power.

From what I could find on your Jensen AWM975, the main harness should have terminals. I have included a couple pictures outlining the wiring/pin locations.

You can then use a circuit tester like the Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993 to test. You can push the tip through the black sleeve to test at the terminal (included picture). Or you can hook the black part over a jacketed wire and the tip will pierce through the wires jacket to test that wire.

Is it possible the power switch is off? Maybe try pressing the power button for a few seconds. If not try unplugging it for a few seconds so that it resets and then plug it back it in.
