Kayak paddles are a little too thick to fit in the Yakima Carrier part # Y04089 so instead I would recommend you go with the Yakima TopGrip part # Y04086 which was designed for carrying paddles. It's a lot smaller so it would take up less room on your roof rack as well as store smaller too.
