Recommended Replacement For An Atwood G6A-8E RV Water Heater

Question:

What is a tankless replacement for a G6a-8e atwood water heater. Im not concerned with door color and would like to find a tankless unit that will fit in the existing space with minimal modification.

To replace your Atwood G6A-8E RV Water Heater I recommend the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - 16" x 18" Door # FR48SR. Since the G6A-8E is 12-5/8" H x 16-1/4" W x 17-5/8"D you'll need a slightly wider door than a 16" x 16" to fully cover the cutout hole. Furrion's tankless water heater is one of the best on the market and out of the brands we carry is the top choice.

To install this unit you'll need to nail in some 2x2's to shorten the mounting space width down to this unit's size and to have something for the sides of the unit to screw into. This doesn't have to look pretty since it will all be hidden by the access door. Once the new frame-in is complete you'll want to use some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the mounting flange and some non-sag sealant # 344270341437-1 around the access door outer ring to form a watertight seal.

If you have any other questions then please let me know.
