I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class 1 Round Trailer Hitch, item # DT24959, for your 2008 Subaru Impreza five door Wagon if it has a single exhaust and the Curt # C11315 if it has the quad exhaust. To complete your towing setup you will need wiring, ball mount, pin and clip, and a hitch ball. Both of the hitches available for your vehicle are Class 1 rated and will require some enlargement of access holes to install. so there is no real advantage of one over the other.
We have the wiring kit your vehicle needs which is the 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit, item # C59496, which includes everything needed to install a 4-Way trailer connector and a circuit tester to find the correct wires behind the vehicle taillights to splice into.
If you need a hitch ball to complete your towing setup you can use either the 1-7/8 inch Diameter Hitch Ball, item # 19256, or the 2 inch Diameter Hitch Ball, item # 19258.
