Do I need a sliding 5th wheel hitch with a short bed on my 2023 Ram 2500?

A sliding 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3670 is recommended with a short bed on your 2023 Ram 2500. This will give you the ability to reposition the 5th wheel hitch 12" to the rear of the truck giving you added maneuverability with the trailer.
You can still use a fixed 5th wheel hitch # BWRVK3600 but it is recommended to use a pivoting 5th wheel pin box like the Sidewinder # RP34FR. This moves the pivot point when turning from the hitch head to the mounting point 22" to the rear. You will need a Wedge # RP74FR to fit inside the funnel on the Companion hitch.
