How To Stop 5th Wheel Trailer from Swaying

Question:

I have a 2020 RAM 3500 6.7L diesel single rear truck with the 8 foot bed. I have towed my 14,000 pound fifth wheel well within the weight rating of the truck across the country and back multiple times with sway being the only issue. I know a dually would solve all my sway problems, but I really prefer the single rear truck as a daily driver as I really only move the fifth wheel a few times a year. Is there an addition to the truck or trailer I can add to help with sway crazy sways in the wind which causes major drivers fatigue?

In order to correct the sway issue your first step would be to adjust the weight inside the trailer for better distribution. If this can't be done or is already done to the best of your ability, that is when you can look into alternative sway control options. I recommend an electric sway control device which uses the trailer brakes to control/prevent sway, the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control part # 335TSC-1000. The Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control actually has a sway control mode specifically designed for sway caused by large gusts of wind as well as other scenarios where sway occurs.
