Recommended Brake Controller for 2023 GMC Sierra's w/ Factory Tow Package
Question:
I am getting a 2023 GMC Sierra with the tow package and 7-way connector on the bumper. I need a brake controller and do not want to mess with one by my legs and am not really sure about the security of the plug in one on the bumper. Are there any other options?

Yes, there is another option to add a brake controller to your Sierra. Since you have the factory tow package, I recommend the Curt Echo In-Line Wireless Brake Controller item # C79DR. The controller plugs in behind your 7-way with included connectors. This will completely eliminate any need to hardware a controller.
The Curt Echo In-Line Wireless Brake Controller item # C79DR works with all of the 2023 Sierra's with the factory tow package.
The Echo In-Line is a proportional brake controller that slows or stops your trailer when your Sierra decelerates. It uses Bluetooth to communicate with your phone so you will never have to worry about losing signal. If your phone dies it automatically uses the default settings you program in.
If you like the reassurance of a manual override button you will want the Manual Override Button for Curt Echo Brake Controller item # C83HR. You can mount it wherever you want it inside your vehicle.
This is a much better option if you are worried about the Echo item # C51180 getting lost or stolen.
