Troubleshooting Curt 18118 Crossbars That Wont Tighten

Hi, Last year I bought some I have enjoyed using them, but since last week the locking mechanism on one of bars seems to broken. It does not want to lock and therefore I cant tighte

This has come up before, and the likely reason that your Curt Roof Rack for Raised Side Rails # C18118 won't tighten is due to you possibly overtightening the screws.
It's fairly easy to do this is and when they are overtightened they'll break and you'll never be able to tighten them again.
The best thing you can do in this case is to replace the entire set as replacement bars / clamping mechanisms are not available separately.
