Lithium Compatible Converter to Replace WFCO-9865

We just bought a new 5th wheel, had 4 Battleborn batteries installed prior to delivery but the Dealership service dept. did not change the manufacturer installed converter. Our unit has the WFCO-9865 which is NOT autodetect. Called Batteleborn for their recommendations and they said the replacement would be: PD9170ALV which I do not see etrailer. Would the PD9180ALV work without any modifications for install? They say match or go up from the present WFCO-9865 presently in unit.

The Progressive Dynamics converter part # PD9180ALV would work great instead of the PD9170ALV you mentioned. It's basically the same thing with a slightly higher amperage rating of 80 amps instead of 70 amps.

I don't recommend using a higher amp converter as the converter size is based on the load of the trailer and there would be no real benefit of going with an overrated option. That said, if you want to go up 5 amps or so that shouldn't really…
