2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Base Plate Kit Recommendation for a Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar

Question:

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee I plan to tow behind my motorhome. I also have a StowMaster 5000 tow bar. I need some guidance regarding which Base Plate I need as well as a lighting and braking system. A wiring system that uses my vehicle lights makes sense. I read about the Ready Brake and it sounds good. Please give me information on what would be a complete setup, utilizing my StowMaster 5000 tow Bar. Thank you

The baseplate that fits your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and is compatible with the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar # RM-501 is the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 1425-1 (with the Safety Cables # RM-643 if you don't already have them). Then for wiring I recommend the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which tees in behind your tail lights and gives you a 7-Way that plugs right in to the back of your motorhome.

When it comes to a braking system you can use the Ready Brake if you'd like but that's not a system that we currently carry (as of November 2022), so if you're wanting a system through us I recommend checking out the Brake Buddy Classic 3 # HM39494 instead. This installs inside the vehicle, behind the driver's seat, but it is something you'll install each time you flat tow so the installation process is less intensive than most other applications.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
