How to Pick Out a Hub and Drum to Go to a Different Bolt Pattern
Question:
I have a toy hauler that currently has a 6-bolt x 5-1/2inch BC hub/drums. I would like to upgrade to 8-bolt hub/drums for the increased weight limits they provide. Can that be done if all the numbers match drum, bearing and seal measurements? -Thanks

Yes, you can go to a hub with a different bolt pattern as long as you match everything up. You will need to make sure the bearing numbers are the same and that your brake assemblies are the same size.
The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-219-4UC3 that you referenced uses inner bearing number 25580, outer bearing number 14125A and is designed for 12 inch by 2 inch brake assemblies.
You should note that going to a hub with a higher towing capacity does not necessarily give you more overall weight capacity. The lowest rated component in your setup will be your overall capacity since that would be the weakest link. I would recommend you check your trailer for the plaque near the coupler on the frame to see what capacity your axles and trailer have and be sure not to exceed this figure.
