Adapter Module For Using Factory Brake Controller On a GMC Sierra With Dexter DX EOH Brake Actuator

Question:

I bought a 2021 5th Wheel with a Dexter EOH Brake controller with disk brakes see photos. The 2020 GMC-3500 indicates a Brake Fault when the 7-pin is connected and the brake pedal is depressed. Can you confirm that Adapter Module DX35FR is the right one for me to try to solve this problem? On the installation, does the adapter splice into the blue and white wire feeds on the trailer side, on the tow vehicle side or it doesnt matter, just splice it into those wire connections? Thanks!

Expert Reply:

Yes, the Adapter Module # DX35FR is the part you need. This will allow you to use the factory trailer brake controller on your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 with the Dexter DX Series Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator # K71-651 on your 5th wheel. The Module will wire in line on the white and blue wiring on the trailer side.
