Recommended 7-Way Trailer Connector For A 2003 Chevrolet Express Van With Factory 4-Pole

HI, My tent trailers GVWR is only 3000 pounds. I want to tow it with my 2003 Chevy Express van. I dont need anything fancy. I crawled under the van and it already has a 4 pin connector. I need the 7 pin for the tent trailer. Im pretty handy, have tools, and would like to do this myself. Any advice you have would be appreciated. Thanks

For your 2003 Chevrolet Express Van all you're going to need is the:

7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L.

This adapter will plug into your existing 4-pole connector and provide your van with the needed 7-way connector without sacrificing your original connector.

From here it would also be very highly recommended that you also install a brake controller. If you're open to suggestions, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 is a great option.

This brake controller is designed to be used with trailers that have up to 4 axles, includes the mounting hardware, and an easy to read LCD screen that communicates brake force output, sync setting, and error codes.
