205/75R15 Tire and Wheel Replacement Recommendation for Stock Trailer

Question:

I have a small stock trailer I am restoring. It currently has p215/75 r 15 tires. I will probably haul I cow at a time to market a couple of times a year. Can I go to 205/75 15 tires should they be range c? It is a dual axle unit.

Yes, replacing a 215/75R15 tire with a 205/75-15 will work great as the 205 will be just slightly smaller.

I recommend using a radial tire since they perform better on the road. Load Range C or D should work just fine but it just depends on the axle weight rating on your trailer. LR C is 1,820 lbs at 50 psi while LR D is 2,150 lbs at 65 psi so you'll double that for each axle since a tire will be on either side of the trailer.

For your application I recommend using the Kenda Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Black Mod Wheel # AM32424 which is a Load Range D tire rated for 81 mph on the highway and the wheel has the standard 5on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

If you happen to have a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern instead the the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" White Mod Wheel # A15R6WSD is my recommendation for that configuration as this tire also has the Load Range D and 81 mph speed rating.

Attached are review videos of both tire/wheel combos for you to check out. If you have any other questions feel free to reach back out!
