Are Load Resistors Needed When Replacing Incandescent Lights With LED Lights On A Travel Trailer?
Question:
Hi, I am going to replace all of the incandescent lights inside and out on the Jayco travel trailer with LEDs. I am hauling it with a 2008 Chevy Avalanche. I already have all LED lights inside and out on the Avalanche and I did in fact use resistors to complete that task. This includes all exterior lighting... tailights, turns, brakes, running, and headlights. It has the tow package with the 7 prong trailer hookup. I am guessing that I will not need to put resistors on the trailer because anything coming from the Avalanche is already wired to use LEDs and they work well. Am I correct in this assumption? Thanks for your thoughts,

When you go to replace your incandescent lights with LED lights on your 2008 Jayco Jay Feather, you should only need to use load resistors like the Load Resistor Kit for LED Turn Signals # DI34ZR with turn signals to prevent hyperflashing.
Other than that, you do not need to use load resistors when switching your lights to LEDs. Additionally, these resistors are rated for 50 watts, is compatible with 12V systems, and measures 2" long x 1-1/4" wide x 11/16" tall.
