Will Flex Air Pin Box Cause Tailgate or Bed Rail Clearance Issues

Question:

2019 F250, shorter bed, Firestone 5,000 lb bags, Demco auto-slide hitch 18k, 2021 GD Reflection 30foot 29RS. Im seriously considering upgrading to the 18k Flex-air pin box but have seen articles that this larger assembly may hit my side rails when turning and/or backing. There is also the possibility that it will hit my tailgate. I believe the Flex-air is longer than my 1621. Ive also seen reports of the air bags not holding air which would exacerbate that issue immensely because I think were relying on the Flex-air bag being inflated to clear the side rail and tailgate? If it loses air, will the unit lower to where its hitting my truck which would cause serious damage? Additionally My 5th is now riding level with the stock 1621. It looks like it will ride higher with the Flex-air because, it appears that, vertical measurement plate to bolts is greater w Flex-air. Adding to that, I have adjustments on the Demco hitch that would raise, or lower, the hitch in the bed but Im looking intensely at interference with truck bed and level RV riding height before spending and installing this unit only to realize it wont work for me. Help. Thank you!

The Flex Air pin box part # LC328492 is a really great pin box upgrade that you will notice is much smoother and quieter than what you have now. This would not cause bed rail or tailgate clearance issues either. We've sold quite of few of these and interference in this way is not common at all. Air bag failure is incredibly rare as well, but if it did happen it would not lower the pin box to a point that would cause interference either. Overall height of the pin box is not drastically different than your current pin box either so I would not anticipate issues there either. In general this pin box does a great job improving ride quality when towing and does not cause interference.
