Easiest Way to Install Curt Echo Mobile Controller on Vehicle with 4-Way

Question:

Team, I recently installed a hitch and 4-pin wiring system onto my 2017 Volvo XC 90. Short term, we had just set up to tow a 2000lb cargo trailer for a move. Long term I intended to install a break controller in order to tow up to capacity, probably a boat as the move was to VA Bch. Is there an adaptor available that would make the Curt Bluetooth controller work with the current wiring or does the 4-pin not provide the constant power required for this accessory? Is there a way I could do this without installing another whole wiring harness? My 4-pin currently installed is a Tekonsha T-One. Thanks!

All brake controllers will need more than the 4-way wiring harness circuits to function but the Curt Echo part # C51180 does still offer the simplest solution to go from 4-way to 7-way and be functional. What you'll want is the 7-way conversion kit part # ETBC7L which was designed with the Echo in mind and you'd be set. This will require you to plug in your 4-way to it and then run a power wire from the positive terminal of your battery to the black wire of the adapter and you'd be set. There isn't a simpler or easier way to accomplish this.
