Trailer Suspension Enhancement For a Triple Axle Trailer With 8,000LB Axles And Slipper Springs

Question:

I have an Iron Bull triple axle trailer, 2018 model. Currently it rides like the axles are welded to the frame. The trailer was a 40 ft flatbed and has been converted to a 46 ft mobile kitchen. I would like to soften the ride so that anything left on the counters doesnt end up on the floor. I think that part of the problem is that the trailer load is stretched over the entire length and not located over the suspension as would be on a heavy equipment trailer. I measured front to middle axle centerline and got 36 inches. What doe you recommend?

Expert Reply:

It appears that you have 8,000lb axles on your 2018 Iron Bull triple axle trailer. If this is what you have I recommend the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers # RM-2470 along with the Add-On Kit for Triple Axle Trailers # RM-2470-50. These shock absorbers will help to reduce shock inside the trailer as well as provide a more stable ride for the trailer. In the event you do not have 8,000lb axles please let me know what weight rating axles you have.
