Broken Band in Tire Causing the Tire to Balloon in the Center

Question:

Why are my trailer tires ballooned out in the center of the tread? It is consistent all the way around. There is no other abnormal tread wear. They have good tread depth. They are not and have never been over inflated.

It sounds like the band inside of your tires has broken. This will cause your radial tires to balloon in the center. Broken belts in tires usually come from defects during the manufacturing process. However, they can occur from improper mounting, degraded and aged rubber, extreme heat, oversteering, and debris. The belts break into small pieces and change the shape of the tire.

I saw you were looking at the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire item # TTWTRTM2057515C. This 15" tire is a load range C with a maximum load capacity of 1,820 lbs at 50 psi per tire. It has a speed rating of M which tops out at 81 mph.

If you have a different size go ahead and email me back with what you are looking for and I would be happy to find you a replacement.
