Troubleshooting Lights Not Working with the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles
Question:
I recently purchased this wiring kit from you. I installed it and the brake lights and turn signals work perfect as expected. However when the tail lights are turned on, on the towing vehicle the tail lights on the towed vehicle do not turn on for driving at night. How do I remedy this?

You will want to check the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56002 to ensure that it is working properly. To do that, you will want to use a circuit tester # PTW2993 and test that you have power on the wires before the converter and after the converter. If you have power going into the converter but not out, then there is something wrong with the wiring harness.
If you do not have power before the harness, then you will want to check your vehicle to track down where the wire is losing power.
