How to Determine Correct Rise/Drop for Ball Mount on 2022 Honda Palisade Limited
Question:
I installed the #C13427 on a 2022 Palisade Limited. It appears to be about 12inch from the ground to the bottom of the outside of the receiver. Would the recommended rise be 2inch + 2inch for the ball?

The correct rise/drop for a ball mount on your 2022 Honda Palisade Limited depends on the trailer you will be towing. In order to determine this you will need 2 measurements. The first is the hitch height and the second is the coupler height. It is also worth noting that the rise and drop on the ball mount are measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform.
The hitch height is the distance from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. For the # C13427 that measurement is going to be approximately 13". For the coupler height, with the trailer level you will measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler.
Hitch Height - Coupler Height = Rise/Drop
Your average coupler is going to be around 17-18" high, so if you don't already have a trailer to measure I would use that as a base point. Something like the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40346 would put you were you need to be. You will also need # C40004 for a 2" ball.
I attached a helpful article on measuring rise and drop for your reference.
