Does J-Style Kayak Carrier Fit Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbar System for Retrax XR Tonneau Cover
Question:
Does this rack fit the traditional J style kayak carriers? I have Thule Hull-A-Port J-Style carriers that are 15 years old, thanks.

Expert Reply:
Absolutely; J-style kayak carriers are 100 percent compatible with the aero crossbars of the Rhino-Rack system that fits Retrax XR tonneau covers, which is the following part number:
- Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbar System for Retrax XR Series and Mountain Top EVO-M Tonneau Covers # RRVA180B-RRRLT600
The Rhino-Rack # RRVA180B-RRRLT600 gives you what is essentially a roof rack above your truck bed, and uses standard size crossbars that measure 3-1/8" wide x 1-3/16" tall; this size will allow you to use any J-style kayak carrier that fits aero crossbars.
