How To Carry Carbon Fiber Bike On 2018 Subaru Impreza
Question:
Ive owned and been very happy with my Bones 2 Bike trunk rack on Subaru Impreza hatchback for the past few years. I just bought a new hybrid bike Trek FX Sport that is my first carbon frame bike. Some people have said that racks such as mine are not a good idea for carbon bikes since they can damage the frame. Do you guys have experience or recommendations relevant to this issue? Thanks!

Correct, you don't want a bike rack with frame contact with carbon fiber frame bikes. The only type of tire hold bikes are hitch mounted so you will first need to start with a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT24959. Then, you can pick out a tire hold rack such as the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes part # KU74FR which is what I recommend.
