Troubleshooting a Tekonsha Primus Brake Controller that Is Jumpy When Letting Up on the Brakes
Question:
When hooked to my camper every thing seems fine i can apply the brakes and I see the systems working..... its when I let up on the brakes ever so lightly the number on the controler goes to zero....and I have to apply harder to brakes and it kinda makes it jump...

It sounds like the intensity or power setting may be set wrong for your trailer. The best advice I can give you would be to just go through the initial setup instructions and see if that fixes the problem you are experiencing. It sounds like the sensitivity might be set to high and your controller is just reacting too quickly when you are letting up on the brakes.
I attached the installation instructions for this controller that detail how to set this controller up properly.
If you still experience this problem it might be time to consider upgrading to the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885. This controller has a more advanced accelerometer that will provide a smoother braking action.
