Brake Controller And Wiring Harness For A Pre-Wired 2014 Coachmen Leprechaun
Question:
Hello, we have a 2014 Leprechaun with a Ford E350 chassis. I need a brake controller and compatible wiring harness. The unit is pre wired. The ‘E’ series is not listed in your Model list so am not sure what I need. I can pick the Year and Make but my model doesn’t show up under Ford. Can you please point me to the correct brake controller and harness for my 2014 Leprechaun E350. Many thanks,

We can definitely get you set up with a brake controller and all the needed parts for your 2014 Leprechaun on a Ford E350 chassis. Our fitguide can be a little confusing, but if you choose the year and make, the E-Series vans will show up under “Van”, if you want/need to search for other items. With that said, with your Leprechaun being pre-wired, it will make things a lot easier. However, this will typically mean two things, so I have options for both listed below.
Pre-Wired With 7-Way:
Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional, part # 90885
Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Ford. part # 3034-P
This will be the easiest install and you simply need to figure out where you want to mount the brake controller. The Tekonsha P2 is an easy to use controller that comes highly recommended. It can handle trailer with up to 8 brake assemblies (4 axles) and has a Lifetime Warranty. The # 3034-P pigtail will plug into the back of the P2 controller and then directly into the port under your dash. Quick and easy.
Pre-Wired With 4-Flat:
Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional, part # 90885
Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Ford. part # 3034-P
Hopkins Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185
Deka 10 Gauge Primary Wire - Blue (per foot) # 10-1-1
Might Also Need:
Deka 10 Gauge Primary Wire - Red (per foot) # DW02508-1
Pollak 40-Amp In-Line Circuit Breaker # 9510
If you have this option, it will be a bit more work to get everything installed. The P2 controller and pigtail will still be used, but not all the wires are run. The # 37185 adapter will piggyback off your 4-Flat, but you will need to run the blue wire from the 7-Way up to the port under your dash. The power and brake signal wires are already run to the port so you will not need to worry about those. Lastly, and if you wanted/needed 12 volts running to your trailer, you will need to run the red wire and 40-Amp circuit breaker from the battery to the 7-Way to get power to the 7-Way.
