Is it Possible to Need a Larger Gauge Wire with the Solera 12V Electric RV Awning Conversion Kit
Question:
I am going to convert my awning to 12 volt. My batteries are in the front compartment an my fifthwheel. My switch will be mounted at the rear door of my fifthwheel. The distance is about 25 is 14 gauge wire okay for that distance, or should I go 12 gauge? Thanks

When installing the Solera 12V Electric RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC434724 you will need to use 14 AWG or larger as necessary to provide 12V minimum at all times at the connection to the LCI-supplied power cable. Since you are running a longer distance, you will want to use the larger 12 gauge wiring like the 12 Gauge # 12-1-1.
