Can Wheels From 235/80/16 E Tires Be Used for 235/80/16 F Tires

Question:

I have a 2021 Grand Design fifth wheel with 235/80/16 E tires. If I go up to the same size tire but an F rating I heard that I would have to change the rims due to the increase in tire pressure. True?

To swap out to tires with an F Load Range rating you'll need to check that your wheels don't have any psi ratings and that they also are equipped with a metal valve stem like part # AM20906 which can handle psi ratings over 100.

Most wheels don't have a psi rating so odds are you'll be able to just upgrade the valve stem and be good to go. If your wheel does have a psi rating stamped into it and it's lower than 110 then you'll need to upgrade your wheels as well.

For your application we have the Westlake ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # WE76FR which is the same size you're needing but has a load range G which is 4,080 lbs at 110 psi. If you're wanting to stick with the load range F then we have the Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10501 which has a slightly different size (it's about 1" larger in diameter) but it has that lower F load range of 3,960 lbs at 110 psi.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
