Can I Tow a Trailer and Use a Trunk Mount Bike Rack on My 2016 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Can I use this rack on a 2016 Toyota Highlander while towing a trailer?

If your trailer has a straight tongue, like a boat or kayak trailer, then you might have enough room under your bikes to be able to use the Malone Runway Trunk Bike Rack # MPG2142 on your 2016 Toyota Highlander while also towing, but there are variables that I can't really address; like how tall are your bikes, where exactly the rack arms sit in regards to the height of your hitch receiver, and if your trailer coupler height needs a straight ball mount or one that has a drop or rise.
Because of this I recommend looking at an alternative solution for your situation. If you're only needing to carry 2 bikes then the Hitch-It # LC731138 is great for a straight tongue trailer and the Jack-It # LC429756 is great for an A-Frame trailer with an A-Frame trailer jack. You can use these with your Highlander hitch by using the Bump-It Hitch Adapter # LC723359 when you aren't towing.
If you are needing to transport 3 bikes then let me know a little more about your towing rig and I can see what other solutions we might have.
