The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller, item # TK94FR, will draw power from the black 12 volt circuit, number 4, in the 7-way connector, so it will need to be wired separately to the vehicle battery through a 30 amp circuit breaker, item # PK54530.
The green wire is needed for the right turn and stop lights on the trailer. This wire will be connected to the number 6 pole in the 7-Way connector, which may be labeled red.
The purple wire is usually wired to the center pole of the 7-Way connector, number 7, for backup lighting or surge brake lockout or auxillary 12 volt power.
Unless needed for other functions the blue, number 2, pole and the center pole will not be needed for the Prodigy RF Brake Controller.
Wiring a 7-way connector is as follows, and can be seen on our wiring page (see link).
Function
1 Common Ground - White
2 Electric Brake - Blue
3 Tail & License - Brown
4 Battery Charge - Black
5 Left Stop & Turn - Yellow
6 Right Stop & Turn - Green
7 Center Auxiliary - Purple, Yellow or Orange
The trailer will have to be wired to match as shown in the wiring diagram. We have a video of the installation of the 7-way brake controller wiring kit, item # ETBC7, on a 2009 Honda Odessey for you to view.
