Recommended Weight Capacity of Air Bags for a 2018 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Looking at Firestone air bags for my 18 GMC Sierra 2500hd. I pull a fifth wheel camper with a pin weight of roughly 2,000lbs. Camper total weight of 11,500. Should I go with 5,000lb bags or 7,500lb?

Since you're only adding around 2,000 lbs to the back of your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 I recommend going with the 5,000 lbs capacity Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F2613 over the 7,500 lbs item # F2709. These springs reduce the strain on your rear suspension, increase safety, and compensate for uneven loads. The Firestone Air bags are compatible with in bed hitches They level your Sierra from front to back and adjust independently for side-to-side leveling of off-center loads.
I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command II - Analog Gauge w/ Heavy Duty Compressor item # F2219. This onboard compressor allows you to fill your air springs at the touch of a button. This mounts inside your cab and lets you adjust the air springs individually to compensate for uneven loads like slide-outs.
