Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 3,500 lbs Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a Sienna, 2015, LE, AWD I will be towing a 2014 Jayco Jay Feather 16 XRB I have a lot of trailering experience, but with heavier vehicles towing a boat and a landscape trailer..... Never dealt with WD/sway control. With a TT this size, how necessary is a weight distribution hitch?

Since you are towing with a 2015 Toyota Sienna I strongly recommended using a weight distribution system. Weight distribution systems should be used when the trailer being towed weighs 50% or more of the vehicles weight.
It looks like your 2014 Jayco Jay Feather 16 XRB has a gross weight of 3,500 lbs which means your tongue weight will be between 350 lbs and 525 lbs. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37060ET. This system has a tongue weight range of 200 lbs - 600 lbs.
This system has built in sway control to keep your trailer in line with your Sienna when you are going down the highway. The steel-on-steel friction helps to minimize sway caused by winds or sudden maneuvers like semi's passing you.
I also recommend the Classic Accessories Tow Bar and Weight Distribution Tote item # CA80113. This heavy duty bag is perfect for storing your weight distributing hitch. It is 36" x 11" Wide x 8" Tall and has padding that prevents damage to your hitch and prevents dings to your vehicle's cargo area from shifting gear.
