Fastway Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2007 Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite Ultra Lite 17FD
Question:
I just got a travel trailer. It weighs about 2900 empty with a tongue weight of around 375, maybe 400 i haven’t found the exact details on it. It’s a 2007 Gulf Stream ameri-lite ultra lite 17FD. I figure after i load everything in it and fill the tank, I’m around 3400 pounds maybe. I’m wondering if i should get the 6000 and 600 weight distribution hitch, or get the 4500 and 450 hitch since it’s closer to my weights. I have a 2022 Nissan Frontier, it can tow 6700 pounds.

When picking out a weight distribution system you want to go with a system that has a tongue weight range that encompasses the loaded tongue weight of the trailer. In other words you want your loaded tongue weight to fall pretty close to right in the middle of the range. So the Fastway part # FA92-00-0600 would be your best option as it has a range of 250-600 lbs which based on what you mentioned is correct for.
