Suspension Enhancement for Towing Trailer on Uneven Roads

Question:

So we are on our 2nd weekend camping with our new 282QBXL. Has towed very well, no issues on highways or main roads. Problem comes on back/uneven roads, the truck constantly feels like its bouncing. Truck is a 2019 F150 with 11000 miles so I doubt its my shocks. Could this just be the way its going to be? Could my equalizer 4 point need readjusted? My neighbor recommended the Sumo Springs, would that help?

There are a few things you can do to try to even out your towing setup when traveling on unkept roads. You can add suspension enhancement to your truck, to your trailer, and then also upgrade the connection point between truck and trailer. Obviously you'll want to make sure you have your trailer loaded correctly as well with 10-15% of the weight being on the tongue.

I recommend starting out with your truck by using the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SS95QR. This fits your 2019 Ford F-150 4WD and is a simple "install and forget" system that does the work for you and doesn't require any maintenance.

For your trailer you can add the SumoSprings # TSS-106-40 for underslung (leaf springs under axle) setups. This is essentially the same thing you'll be putting on your truck, it's just designed for a trailer suspension instead.

If you think the issue is the connection between truck and trailer then you can upgrade to the ProPride 3P Weight Distribution Hitch # PR57QR which is supposed to be the Cadillac of weight distribution systems.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
