2007 Toyota Tundra Roof Rack Recommendation for Bare Roof

Question:

Hello. How does this product mount to the roof of the Tundra? Do the rails fit inside the existing tracks? The tracks are 49 inches apart, measuring to the inside edge of each track. The tracks are parallel for 52 inches, then start to diverge and curve toward the front of the cab. Each track is just under an inch wide, taking into account the interior flange on the track walls. I watched the video about mounting to a camper shell, and am not prepared to drill into the interior cab space and having the retaining washers visible inside the cab of the truck. Sorry, you may have to rotate the photos 90 degrees!

Great questions!

The Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-480B will only fit the cab of your 2007 Toyota Tundra if you're willing to drill into it - this roof rack style is typically installed on a camper shell. The tracks are 2" wide so you unfortunately wouldn't be able to fit the tracks into that channel anyways.

Instead of installing tracks on the roof of your Tundra I recommend picking up the Rhino-Rack Vortex system that clamps to your door jambs for fitment:

59" Vortex Crossbars - # RRVA150B-2
2500 Series Legs - # RRRLKVA
DK Fit Kit - # DK079

This system doesn't require modification to your vehicle and it offers a 165 lb weight capacity which should be plenty for anything you'll be using it for. I've attached an installation video of this kit on a 2014 Tundra for you to check out.
