Tow Ready Trailer Ball Torque Rating and Socket for Installing
Question:
Hello, can you tell me how tight the nut for the hitch ball should be on a ball mount? Right now I have it on as tight as I could get it with a large crescent wrench. My auto mechanic could probably torque it down for me if I knew the correct rating. Thanks in advance.

The Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball, item # 63845, you have referenced needs to be torqued to 250 foot pounds. It is recommended to frequently check that the ball is tightened to these specifications.
I recommend using the 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket - 3/4" Drive - Chromium-Vanadium Steel item # ALL643216 to install it.
