Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch For A Jayco Mini Trailer

Question:

So Im posting this for my father. While I have a Georgetown class A, he just purchased a Jayco 166bs mini trailer that weighs in at just under 5k lbs. Hes looking for a good weight distribution hitch with sway control and has set on the ProPride p3 anti sway hitch. From what I see it looks good but a bit pricey at around $3 grand. He was originally set on an equalizer hitch the dealer wants to sell him. I know absolutely nothing about WD hitches as I have never owned or needed one. Is this a good system or is it just over hyped and over priced ?? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

When it comes to installing a weight distribution hitch on your Jayco Mini Trailer weighing right under 5,000 pounds I recommend The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 10,000 pounds GTW, 1,000 pounds TW # EQ37100ET.

When selecting a weight distribution hitch you need to be as close as possible to the fully load tongue weight rating of your trailer. The Equalizer hitch has a tongue weight rating between 600 pounds and 1,000 pounds. Using this system will evenly distribute the weight over the axles of your towed vehicle and trailer for stability and control, it will also create a more level ride for both tow vehicle and trailer.

The system has a dipped steel construction which is durable and corrosion resistant. It has a snap-up lever which eases the installation by reducing the lifting required by the trailer jack. Everything is included in this weight distribution system. The 1-7/8 inch Thin walled socket # EQ70-00-4800 ( sold separately) is recommended for hitch ball installation.

The Pro Pride system is a very nice system but the Equalizer hitch will do the same thing for less the money.

I attached a review video link below.
