Best Bike Rack for Clearing the Rear Hatch on a Cadillac XT5

Question:

Im interested in a single bike hitch mount bike rack for a 2017 Cadillac XT5. I have a Kent 72653 26 inch Bayside Cruiser Bike. It has front and back fenders. I was wondering if the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches - Tilting - INH110 would be a good match for me? I just received etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e62AR for my XT5 I order from your company. Now I need a bike rack, advise please. I have the Inno Tire Hold in my shopping cart ready to order but need to know if this would work for my bike and vehicle? I concerned first that my bike will be securely on the rack as there are front and back half fenders. Im also concerned that I would be able to access my cargo while rack is in tilt position. Will my hatch clear while opening or would I have to remove my bike first? thanks for any advise on this bike rack,

Thanks for the pictures! I have a solution for you but there is a couple of issues with using the Inno Tire Hold bike rack. The hitch pin hole on the etrailer item # e62AR hitch for your 2017 Cadillac XT5 sits pretty far back from the edge of your bumper at 6". I would not recommend using the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches item # INH110 because of the lack of clearance. The distance from the hitch pin hole to the closest point on the carrier is 6" so you will hit the back of your Cadillac when driving. On top of the clearance concerns your Kent 72653 26 inch Bayside Cruiser Bike has fenders so you do not want to use a wheel mounted bike rack. With the movement of your vehicle going down the road you are likely to damage your bike using a wheel mounted bike rack.

I recommend using the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes item # S64683. This bike rack has a 45 lbs weight capacity and can accommodate the 26" wheels your Bayside Cruiser Bike has. The distance from the closest part of rack when folded down is 12-1/2" and 7" when folded up so you will have plenty of clearance. We have not specifically tested this bike rack on a 2017 Cadillac XT5 but you should have no issues with clearance. I have attached a couple of pictures below that shows the tilt function of this bike rack used on a similar video. For extra clearance you can remove the rear cradles and upright when only loading one bike. I have also linked a video that shows this bike racks functions on a similar midsize suv.
