Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

I installed the front and rear Anti-sway bars with the steering shock.
I am 100% satisfied with the outcome and handling of my RV while driving down the road.
I would highly recommend the installation of these items on any RV

Made a world of difference. SO glad I found this on E trailer, and the ordering process was simple. Parts arrived, everything was included other than the hard work :)

One of the best upgrades I have done to our coach. Handles much better going down the road. I don’t have to perform a bunch of steering corrections when a semi passed me.

2004 Nissan Leaf

As first time (Class A) motorcoach owners admittedly we had a lot to learn. Our 2004 Monica LaPalma was one of the first generation gassers raised up for more basement storage but without changing out/ updating the original leaf spring design on the Workhorse chassis. Result which was exacerbated by not knowing we should keep speeds below low 60s mph plus driving inexperience resulted in my opinion excessive sway on curves/ needed reactions freeway drivers. As an engineer, did my homework on causes, solutions, companies with proven products to stiffen up handling. Roadmaster kept coming up to the top of the list. We live in a rural area and arranged for a garage that works on commercial trucks to install. Their report to me was that the Roadmaster anti-sway bars was very stout/ well made, instructions were easy to follow... including a non-RV shop. We did our (Md to FL) shakedown trip last Winter (w/o towing a car) and LOVED the solid handling! It was like a new RV! Wife also drove about 1/4 of the drive time. Now we did also (based on every RVer we talked to) limit our speed to no more than 65... most of the time 60-63 mph. With that experience, this Winter we are towing our car and on our 'Western Ho' trip of a lifetime visiting as many Nat'l Parks as we can (currently in NM). Hope I have 'given foreword' a little and that our experience with Roadmaster (and speed control) helps those coming up behind us.

I was looking for a sway bar for my workhorse chassis in a short time. Steve Z at etrailer processed my order and was able to get me what I needed in time for me to be able to install it before we left on a trip.
The price was competitive the delivery was as promised and they were great to work with. Steve tracked my order and knew when it arrived. I will be adding etrailer as one of my favorite vendors

Great it made a big difference in the handling of our motor home.

Dodge Challenger

Since Installing the anti-sway bar, on our 36 foot challenger class a RV, The handling has improved dramatically. My wife and I recently completed a 7000 mile cross country trip in a variety of weather conditions and the handling was terrific largely due to the anti-sway bar. We did not experience the normal sway when large trucks passed us. Even on windy days, the sway bar was indeed an asset as was the safety plus steering stabilizer system that I installed several years ago. It was money well spent and I highly recommend the use of the anti-sway bar. My son helped me install the sway bar and the directions were clear cut but it does take time to attach especially when the RV is not on a lift.

by:

This rear sway bar kit improved my handling by reducing greatly the swaying (tilting back and forth) that I had experienced previous to it's installation. I later installed a Roadmaster front sway bar that reduced sway, but to a much lesser degree. I would advise installing the rear sway bar first, and then the front later (only if needed) with the expectation that the rear bar will make by far the most improvement.

Workhorse

I installed front and rear sway bars on my 2006 Itasca suncruiser after making a winter trip to Florida from Ohio.We made a return trip this past winter through the smokie mountains etc.The improvement in handling was so noticeable my wife noticed it from the passenger seat.I highly recommend both of these products.I have a workhorse w24 chassis.Crosswinds and semi push was very minimal. One handed driving in most situations is the norm now and driver fatigue was minimal.Driving the coach is much more enjoyable.David S Mansfield Ohio.

by:

I wrote a review on the front Kit, I drove my motor home after in stalled the front kit, and it helped some, but when I installed the rear it went to a very comfortable drive and ride, I could not believe the difference in handling, they should have to installed this on every motor home at the factory, I was driving with both hands on the wheel and dear not look off, when I got thru driving every day, I was wore out to say the least, now after installing the rear kit, it's one hand all the way, very little sway, straight down the road, I never worry about trucks anymore, I really think it I had installed the rear first I may not have put the front on and then again it may take both to get the ride and drive I have.....I would Highly Recommend both again like the front if you are not good with tools hire it done, I'm 75 years old and I didn't have any trouble, but I did the heavy equipment mechanic in the military......... Worth every penny

by:

I installed these anti-sway bars front and rear because I was fighting crosswinds and passing semi-trucks, very exhausting driving. Made a huge difference. Our old Newmar (Workhorse) had no sway bars at all.

After installation the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar provided excellent stability and control on my RV, even in very windy conditions. I was very impressed with the quality and durability of this product.

Roadmaster

when I decided to upgrade my w22 workhorse suspension on my 36 ft Coachman Santara , the concern was sway and control on the interstate surrounded by the big rigs from 50 to 70 mph, My Coachman would get to be a hand full due to cross and push winds.
I installed the front and rear roadmaster sway bars, front and rear trac bars and a reflex steering stabilizer.

2),Blue Ox TigerTrak Rear-Axle Stabilizer TT2601
3), Roadmaster front Anti-Sway Bar - RM-1259-106 with trac bar
it now drives ai a far more relaxed condition , should have done it year ago

by:

The anti-sway bar and trutrac bar make a huge difference (with the rear anti-sway bar). Installation was straightforward, the parts all fit well.

by:

Looks great! Exactly what I wanted. However, after looking more closely, I decided I did not want to drill any holes in the frame. I was afraid it would cause a crack due to the "leverage" of the heavy engine behind it. Soooooo I do not have anything to report. It is a BEEFY looking device. And I wish I wasn't afraid to use it. I don't know what to do with it. Thanks....Tom Lakey PS Etrailer is the best place to buy!

by:

Box was torn up on receipt. One washer missing was all. Product was straight forward and is really ment for experienced installers as modifications to the product had to be made to install the brackets to the frame. We had no way to remove the rear wheels to drill the holes in the frame and had to work in the wheel wells. I like the over all product, it seems to me that they can and should make parts that will fit any frame application.

by:
2008 GMC Savana Van

I was amazed that all three products arrived in 4 days. The parts were front and rear anti-sway bars and Davis Trutrac.
The service was friendly and fast. Kevin had the information that made the purchase fast and easy. Thanks for all the help .

by:
2003 Workhorse W-Series

The item arrived in one large box. It was very, very heavy and the outer box was damaged. I think this had more to do with weight and difficulties people had with moving it around to get it to my home. I might suggest perhaps splitting the delivery into two boxes. The bar can go into a thinner box with the bolts and smaller accessories. The U bars into a box along with the flat metal plates. It will still be heavy but easier to move. The downside of course is two boxes. I will just tell you that the one box was really beat up however all of the items were still in the box and in good shape.

by:

Easy to follow instructions. Fast delivery. Thank you.
I feel the frame plates should have holes drilled in the bottom
as well as the sides. Unless you can remove the rear tires, there is
no way you can drill holes in the side of the frame. I had to drill holes
to install in the bottom of the frame.

2007 Monaco LaPalma

Prompt delivery of an excellent product. Sway bar is top quality. Thanks!

by:

this works great motor-home handles much better if you don't have one one your motor-home you need to get one.

by:

It really added stability and made my motorhome more manageable to drive.

by:

This really helps with keeping the rig more stable on bumpy roads, windy drives and corners. I had to get one longer u-bolt because of an extra shim that my rig had on one side. Not too hard to install, took an afternoon.

by:

The product is great but UPS busted the box open dumped it in my driveway looks like they dragged it and skinned the main bar up I sanded down and will paint it. But great product

According to the original sales brochure I looked up, your 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire 3778 was built on the Workhorse W-24 chassis. The same brochure states that the overall length of your coach is 37 feet 5 inches. Given that information, you'd want to use the Roadmaster # RM-1259-109 for the rear anti-sway bar and # RM-1259-105 for the front. Sway bars essentially lock the axles down to the vehicle frame, so they can't rack which causes wandering and unwanted body roll. A steering...
