Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2008 Toyota Prius For Towing and Carrying Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack
Question:
Im looking at purchasing the hitch receiver 1 1/4 inch item#C11468 to put a bike rack on Yakima Hold Up 2 Bike Hitch Rack. I will generally only have one bike on the rack but may sometimes put two bikes on the rack. Im wondering what drawbar I should get with the hitch receiver? I also need to buy the pin and clip which is sold separately, yes? Thank you for your help.

When you install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11468 on your 2008 Toyota Prius, you will need to use the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap # 18050 with the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack # Y02445. Curt recommends this to stabilize the bike rack.
The Curt Class II Drawbar # C45521 is the current ball mount that is recommended by Curt for use with this receiver. Both the drawbars listed in the instructions were discontinued. You will need either a 1-7/8" Ball # C40001 or 2" Ball # C40018 to match your trailer coupler. A Curt Hitch Pin and Clip for 1-1/4" Hitches # F-4 is all you need to hold the drawbar in the receiver. But I recommend the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set # 3794DAT as it will allow you to secure your trailer to your Prius or while it is being stored.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118505 will allow you to connect the lights on most small trailers you may tow. It will also allow you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 in the event your bikes impair the view of the tail lights on your Prius.
