Can the Rightline Gear SUV Tailgate Awning Be Used in a Different Orientation
Question:
Hello, Couple questions on mounting if I wanted to create shade when the sun is coming from a different angle: Can this be mounted on the side of my Forester? Can the length of the poles be adjusted/shortened, Thank you!

Per the manufacturer the Rightline Gear SUV Tailgate Awning # RG44FR "The correct attachment of this product is critical and beyond the control of Rightline Gear. The safe use and long life of this product depends entirely on your good judgment and following these directions."
So while it may be possible to use the awning in a different orientation it would be at your own risk. The poles are like typical tent poles that are broken down into multiple sections, realistically you could not assemble all of the sections. But again it would not be recommended and would be done at your own risk.
