Replacement Equalizers for 1995 Ranger Bass Boat Tandem Axle Trailer

Question:

I am looking to replace the equalizer and shackles on a 1995 Ranger bass boat trailer with tandem axles. The springs are 1 3/4” double eyed, the axle spacing is 33”, the equalizer is 7 3/4” X 2 7/8”. Is the suspension kit to purchase K71-449-00? The shackle straps I have currently appear to have a slightly longer length between openings than the 2 1/4” in the kit. They are more like 2 5/8”! The longer length may be due to wear. Will the slightly shorter shackles that come with the kit be an issue? Currently the tires come close to the fenders an could stand to have more spacing. Thanks for your time.

Helpful Expert Reply:

Based on the dimensions you have provided the best fit would definitely be the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs # K71-449-00. These equalizers are an exact match for your current equalizers. You should not have an issue with the shackle straps being 3/8" shorter and it will slightly raise your suspension.

I have attached an installation video for your reference.
