If you 2013 Ford F-150 just has the factory 4-Way flat trailer connector then you can use # 37185 to add a 7-Way while retaining the 4-Way. The 37185 adapter has 4 wires that will need to be hardwired in unless you do not need all the functions. The white wire must be grounded to the truck frame.

Purple is for reverse lights and you would need to splice into a reverse light circuit behind a tail light. But if you do not need this function you can tape up the purple wire and stow it out of the way.

Blue is for output to trailer brakes. There are some additional items you will need if you want this function to work. You would need a brake controller (I recommend # 90885 because it is a reliable and easy to use controller), wiring harness # 22292, installation kit # 5506.

The blue wire on the harness would need to be cut near the end that plugs into the truck and wire from the installation kit will go from the end coming from the controller to the blue wire on the 37185.

You would use some of the wire from the kit for the black wire on the 37185. It would then run to the truck battery, avoiding areas that can pinch or burn the wire, and go first to a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540, and then from there to the positive battery terminal. If 12 volt power is not needed at the 7-Way then you can tape up the black wire and stow it out of the way.
