Choosing Blue or Black SumoSprings for 2002 Toyota Tundra Towing 22' Camping Trailer
Question:
Greetings, we have a early 2002 Tundra extra cab 4x4 with leveling kit and Leer canopy. The truck pulls our 22’ camping trailer with weight distribution hitch and 500 lbs approx tongue weight fine but some bounce. Thinking the Blue Sumo Springs SSR-610-40 would be good addition but concerned about how the truck might ride unloaded? Would you suggest the Blue 1,000 or Black 1,500 Sumo Springs? Thanks so much for your time-!!!

Expert Reply:
For your 2002 Toyota Tundra I would definitely choose the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-610-40. The 1,000 lb weight capacity is more than enough, especially since you are also using a weight distribution hitch.
These will also have less of an impact on your unloaded ride when compared to the # SSR-610-47, but either way the impact will be minimal. SumoSprings are a great option for minimal impact on unloaded ride quality. They will be a great solution to absorb the bumps and reduce the bounce you are experiencing.
I have attached an installation video for your reference.
