Are The 50" Crossbars Long Enough For A Thule Hullavator On My 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE

Question:

My car: 2013 Toyota Avalon XLE. I have 50” aero style with T slots. I want to add hullavators gifted to me. My question: is 50 inches wide enough? If not what, what is the width recommended for hullavators on this Avalon?

Expert Reply:

In order for the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist with Tie-Downs - Side Loading, part # TH898, needs to have crossbars that extend between 4" and 8" beyond the tower on your 2013 Toyota Avalon. The 50" crossbars will not be long enough. You will need the next size up in crossbar length. It is the Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 60" Long - Qty 2, part # Y00426.

I have included product description links and a video demo link below.
