Troubleshooting A Stuck Rotary Wheel On A Sidewinder Pin Box

Question:

I’m at a loss, all of the installation instructions and video indicate that I am to torque the wedge bolts in the carrier and the use the rotary dial to move the wedge into position against the hitch jaws. The problem is that the dial on my sidewinder will not. I’ve once the carrier is torqued which makes it nearly impossible to use sidewinder as it is intended. Any idea as to why the dial and carrier will not move when torqued?

The rotary wheel of the Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR should still easily operate when the wedge is torqued down. If it's not then either the wedge has been over torqued or there is some kind of internal issue with the rotary wheel mechanism and you'll want to contact Reese for a warranty replacement.

I went out and tested this on a fellow employee's 5th wheel here and had no issues turning the rotary wheel so I'd say your issue is most likely the latter and you'll want to get in contact with Reese.
