Will the 12k brake package fit a 15k brake set up? My shoe size is 12-1/4 x 5 7 bolt pattern

The 12,000 lbs etrailer Electric Trailer Brake with Dust Shield item # AKEBRK-12R you were looking at has an industry standard 7 bolt brake mounting flange pattern. This brake assembly measures 12-1/4" diameter x 5" wide. If your current 15k brakes match these dimensions then they will fit they just won't have the capacity or braking ability you currently have.

The brake shoe lining thickness of the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit part #23-442-443 is about 7/16". I reached out to Dexter for this info but they were not able to provide this so I went out to our warehouse and measured it for you.

I was able to determine that the brake assemblies you have are 7-bolt 12-1/4 inch by 5 inch brake assemblies like the part #23-442-443.

Yes the etrailer 12-1/4 inch brake assemblies will fit your 12k Dexter axles and are electric. For the matching left hand side you'd want the part #AKEBRK-12L.
