Brake Controller Plug Location on a 2005 Toyota Tundra with Factory Tow Package

Question:

Could you please assist me to locate a plug for the wiring harness? Im having difficult time locating the plug on my truck that accommodates the 3040-P wiring adapter. By chance, do you have a video or pictures that could assist me to locate this plug on my truck? I removed the plastic cover by my parking brake and was unable to find the white plug with open end. My truck is a 2005 Toyota Tundra, Double Cab, SR5 4x2,V8. According to my paperwork, it is factory equipped with towing package, class 4 hitch, 130 amp alt, trans oil cooler, 7-pin conn w/converter. Ive reviewed your web site and read some of the questions by other customers. On one of the reviews, your representative recommended the Tekonsha Prodigy #90885 along with wiring adapter #3040P for the 2005 Tundra. Is this still the case or do I have other options? Im going to be pulling a camper trailer and would like to order these items from your web site today.

On your 2005 Toyota Tundra the factory plug to plug in a brake controller is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. However, it is possible that it is up above the emergency brake pedal or behind the kick panel to the left of the pedal. I have linked a video that should help.

You have many brake controller options but the P2 # 90885 is the most popular controller because it is easy to set up and use and because it is reliable. It is quite frankly one of the best if not he best controller available. But I have linked the other options for you to the right if you'd like to check out all the options.

The Tekonsha and Draw-Tite controllers will both use harness # 3040-P. Other brands have their own harnesses which do show up in the link I provided along with the controllers.
