How to Add a 7-way and 4-flat Wiring Harness to a 2000 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Hey Guys, I am trying to find the correct trailer hitch wiring for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. What I need is a 4/7 plug combo. The truck has the wiring harness for trailer wiring but has never been wired. Please give me the correct part number. Thanks

Since your 2000 Chevy Silverado has the factory wiring harness, you will need the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package item # 74682. This harness will plug directly into that OEM port and give you both a 7-way and 4-flat connector. I have linked an installation video below. You will want to confirm that your truck has the same connector as the one in the video.
If you do not have this OEM port than you will need two separate parts to give you a 7-way and 4-flat connector. The Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Powered Tail Light Converter w Hardwire Kit and Tester - 4-Pole Flat item # C59496 and the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7.
