When Does the Spring Tighten and Loosen on an Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring
Question:
with the cable unraveling from the bottom of the spool when opening the door... does the spring tighten or loosen relative to the end of spring attached to the mounting bracket? thank you........

On a torsion spring like that on # CB250D96SHD when the door is opening downward the line is spooling out and the spring will get tighter. When the line is spooling in, closing the door, the spring will relax or get looser. As such if you have not worked with torsion springs before we strongly recommend having a professional perform the installation. A local over head door company should be able to help.
