Trailer Ramp Door Is Hard to Open and Close, Do the Torsion Springs Need to Be Replaced
Question:
The torsion springs on our trailer door need adjustment. The door is very hard to open but also hard to close. Once on the ground, it is difficult to lift and once closed, it is difficult to open. Is this a sign the the springs should be replaced? Or can they be manually adjusted to correct the tension. Should they be tightened to correct this problem?

It could be that the springs are worn out and need to be replaced with either new springs or a new system such as # CB250D96SHD. Inspecting, working on, and/or installing these systems is not something you would want to do yourself because they can be dangerous (the springs are under a lot of tension). I recommend having a garage door company take a look at it to determine if anything can be done to fix the existing system or if a new system is needed.
